These native breeds, recognised for their genetic value, hardiness and sustainability, are raised in traditional extensive systems, in harmony with the natural environment. Their diet is based mainly on mountain pastures, hay, natural fodder, local cereals and, in the case of the Arouquesa and Barrosã, even native products such as chestnuts and acorns. This breeding model not only guarantees animal welfare, but also results in meat with exceptional organoleptic characteristics.

Premium Minhota Beef

Originally from the Minho region, this breed is renowned for its tender meat, rich flavour and balanced marbling (3–7%). The cattle are raised on rich, green pastures, which directly influences the quality of the final product. Ideal for long ageing and high-end preparations.

Premium AROUQUESA Beef

Recognised by its Protected Designation of Origin (PDO), Arouquesa beef offers a very fine aromatic profile, superior tenderness and well-distributed fat. Raised in mountainous areas, its diet is based on natural resources, which gives the meat a clean, delicate flavour with personality. Highly valued in prime cuts such as sirloin, ribeye and matured T-bone steak.

Premium BARROSA OX meat

The Barrosã ox, also protected by PDO, is one of the oldest breeds in Europe. Its meat is characterised by an intense reddish colour, high content of healthy fatty acids and a deep flavour with mineral notes, reflecting the granite soils where it is raised. It is perfect for both traditional cuisine and innovative gourmet dishes.
